1. No attorney-client relationship

Important notice Use of this Site, including the submission of any inquiry, does not create an attorney-client relationship with Ashford & Sterling Law Group, any of its affiliated offices, or any of its lawyers. An attorney-client relationship is formed only after a written engagement letter is countersigned by the Firm and applicable conflicts and onboarding checks are cleared.

Until then, any information you transmit to the Firm through this Site or by email may not be treated as confidential or privileged. Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through this Site.

2. Attorney advertising

The materials on this Site may be considered attorney advertising in some jurisdictions. Prior results described on this Site do not guarantee a similar outcome. The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely on advertisements.

3. Informational only — not legal advice

The content of this Site is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice on any specific matter. You should not act or rely on any information on this Site without seeking advice from a qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.

4. Permitted use

Subject to these Terms, the Firm grants you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use the Site for your own lawful, non-commercial reference. All other rights are reserved.

5. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site in violation of any law or these Terms;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or its underlying systems;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by introducing malicious code;
  • Use any automated means to access, scrape, or copy the Site, except for search-engine crawling consistent with our robots.txt;
  • Use the Site or its content to train any machine-learning model without our prior written consent;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in communications with the Firm.

6. Intellectual property

The Site and all content on it (text, graphics, logos, attorney biographies, publications, and the “Ashford & Sterling Law Group” name and marks) are owned by the Firm or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may print or download a single copy of a publication for your personal reference, provided you retain all proprietary notices. Any other use requires the Firm's prior written consent.

7. Third-party links

The Site may link to websites operated by third parties. The Firm does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites. Your use of any third-party website is at your own risk and subject to that website's own terms.

8. Your submissions

If you submit information through the Site (for example, through a contact form or alert subscription), you represent that the information is accurate and that you have the right to submit it. You grant the Firm a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. THE FIRM DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE FIRM AND ITS PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THE FIRM'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100). NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Firm and its partners, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

12. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the County of New York. Where the law of your jurisdiction provides that mandatory consumer-protection rights cannot be waived, those rights are preserved.

13. Changes to these Terms

The Firm may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
